Rhodo Creations is a rustically elegant wedding rental and custom furniture company. My name is Bill Metes, the artist, craftsman, & woodsman. I use rescued rhododendron, mountain laurel, and salvaged slabs of tree trunks to build my pieces. My artistic ability to utilize the natural shape of the tree branches to create a natural flow within the piece separates my work from others. The art pieces I create have been inspired by the inherent beauty and natural serenity of the SmokyMountains. With creative vision and diligence I have become the pioneer of rustic wedding rentals and my committment to exceeding expectations has placed me on Biltmore Estate’s and the GrovePark’s preferred vendors list. I have expanded my delivery area nation wide and have sent a wedding arbor to Oregon and was involved in a Hilton Head wedding at Palmette Bluffs this past July. I am currently working with the forest service to create a sustainable forest model for all timber related jobs including artists and farmers. My land was just designated as a shitake mushroom farm and look forward to innoculating another 500 mushroom logs this Spring. As an alumnus of Penland School of Craft's creative capital team and semifinalist in NC's Art Council Grant my dedication to the arts is unwavering, and look forward to hearing about your creative visions.
